Failure of IRCTC bookings
Experiencing ridiculous failure at IRCTC end.
While trying for a booking (beyond the lock-down period) IRCTC FAILED to book ticket 3 times, while the Banks/Credit cards deducted the money and IRCTC says "payment pending with banks".
Since this happened 3 times with different bank net banking/debit card/credit cards it can't be with banks but FAILURE of IRCTC for sure to link banks.
It is observed that at any difficult time, be it a holiday rush or this IRCTC FAILED EVERY TIME. Grow up IRCTC!
God knows how I shall get my money back and how tickets can be booked when a counter visit is difficult and discouraged. more

Today also I tried to book ticket from Gujarat to Kerala... again booking failed... Checked availability position on few of my preferred trains.... Same position is being shown for the last 4 days, i.e. NOBODY COULD BOOK tickets till now. more

And surprisingly IRCTC is still open for booking (cheating) beyond 14-4-2020. A Monopoly massacre. more

So you advise crores of people to try for tickets after the lock-down is over, get a ticket 5 months after that (even in normal times people don't get tickets when tried 3 months 29 days before journey) and then travel.

Mr Shibdas, You will surely get your money back, within 3-4 dyas, this must have happened due to demanding following by you at the time of booking 01 You must have demanded to get all tickets only in one compartment-coach 02 You must have demanded to get at least one or all berths -lower only 03 At leat one berth lower under above circumstances, as per rly. soft ware you will be initially charged to your card or net banking, but you get back full amount in 3-4 dayd As such , this should not happen if proper soft ware used by rly more

None of these. Tried other train also and failed but money is deducted.
IRCTC is completely failed without any notice.
In this forum I just wanted to know whether anyone could buy a ticket through IRCTC.
None could confirm so instead many had given irrelevant advises instead of criticizing IRCTC for not issuing any notice, keeping open website for booking, deducting money and not issuing tickets after that.
My question was not on refund, that they are bound to give otherwise will be dragged to court.
I am surprised with the local circle reaction who otherwise discuss silly issues many a times with 100 remarks/posts. Did I need an advice of not trying IRCTC booking for their callousness. more

Prime Minister Modi took the major step to impose a nationwide lockdown on all 1.3 billion Indians for three weeks. “If we don’t handle these 21 days well, then our country, your family, will go backward by 21 years,” he said during Tuesday’s national address, adding that the government will provide support for medical equipment like masks and ventilators. Hope we have enough of lock-down advisories and reminders which was certainly necessary with more serious questions of why international flights were kept open for so long inviting corona-virus to India or why month long lockdown had to be declared with a 3 hour notice. Anyway some of us have developed a habit to accept or say BRAVO for everything they do.
We are a country where 250,000 Indians die every years of just 3 reasons- Road accident, vector carried disease group and diarrhea group.
I think lockdown had nothing to do with my post on online railway booking beyond lockdown period and if so they should have blocked booking procedure with a notice (already blocked for the lockdown period).
Members diverting discussion on other ways is killing the purpose of local circle which otherwise will be a time-pass site for idle people. more
