Fake & unsolicited telephone calls and SMSs.
Nowadays, the incidences of spam calls by telemarketing companies has increased manyfold in spite of the fact that people have registered themselves for DND. There just seems to have no control over them. On an average people are getting 20-25 calls and a similar number of SMSs. The main ones are ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance, Pathology Labs, Housing companies, Loan & Credit cards offers and offers of improving credit scores.
Our law enforcing organizations just seem to be helpless in this matter or they just seem to care.
I really don't know whom to approach for help.
Pls suggest remedies. more

This is such a subject which must be addressed in the PM's "Mann Ki Baat"..... Redressal may be expected only thereafter......sad though, that in our country even small matters seek the PM's action...... more

Currently there is no way to avoid these calls / messages. TRAI is helpless / powerless as they do not take any action (even on the complaints registered on their portal / Apps. TRAI just forwards these calls to respective telecom service provider on whose number the customer received the call. I have multiple times registered for full DND but I still receive the calls and when I complain the answer is same that you might have given consent in the past for receiving these calls / messages. The reason telecom companies are not willing to take action is that they get paid by the telemarketing company (for making calls / sending messages). more

Despite recording DND such calls are coming daily in abundant disturbing our mental peace and patience. You yourself can block the numbers but every time the callers call from different numbers through which you can't call back. We have no control over it excepting suffering from the nuisance created by the telemarketers. The DRT should now wake up and initiate stern action against the offenders who are ignoring the DND instructions and put an end to the nuisance for ever. more

Download TRAI apps. You can register fake calls etc in the apps by notifying the number from where the call was recd. They block the number after investigation. You will be able to track all complaints you have lodged more
