Fan falling from ceiling

One keeps reading about these incidents 1 every week atleast (1 get reported for 10 that happen) and frankly its scary because 90% people when sleeping might have fan on top of them.

BIS should have standards for installation and maintenance of fans. Its not extensive service but twice a year someone from company should visit and make sure the installation is safe. Take 2% extra in price if you need to.

A fan which is vibrating while it is operating or making lot of noise, need to be attended. It is as simple as that. It is the responsibility of property owners to see to it. We can not pass it on every thing to Govt. Please. After all Govt means A INEFFICIENT & DISHONEST employee.

BIS can only give certification of Quality of Product. It cannot give certificate or guarantee for the ceiling hook/plaster or the roofing of the house/school class. One should not burden or blame BIS and ask for its intervention any and everywhere....or they may get angry and hurl a moving fan on you and it would be a very moving experience...and painful too...believe me.

There is no check on price tag. Online suppliers mention extraordinary price and then discount say up to 80%. Beware of such cheaters. Amazon's suppliers are like this. We purchased Two set of Bed Sheets on line showing % cotton. On using on set we found that these are not cotton material but made from recycled plastic fabric. We think return policy will not help us.

Each and every point related to our personal life cannot be enforced by the Government? The personal matters like falling of fan at home, one should take care of it individually whereas in case of public places the incharge of that place. If a Fan in Motion should happen to fall on anyone while sleeping underneath it...it is sure to end the Circle of Life. Yesterday people in an Amusement Park in Kankaria, Ahmedabad - actually Paid for their lives when they bought tickets for a Swing...the fork lift axle broke when the swing went up and came down as the axle broke....2 dead and many injured. So most cases of fatality are either due to carelessness of users or people who are responsible for maintenance.
