Fatigue - causes and treatment
CFS has been defined by the centers for Disease Control, US, as a set of major and minor criteria - one being debilitating fatigue lasting for at least six months that reduces daily activity to below 50%. The other cause may be hypotension or abnormally low blood pressure. Many patients suffering from CFS report stress worsens their condition - stress is not clearly just mental , but it can dismantle health as a whole. Other conditions that mimic the conditions of chronic fatigue is - anemia, hypothyroidism and some infectious diseases.
The CFS disorder is often confused with psychiatric condition such as depression, even though studies have shown clear differences between CFS and clinical depression.
The most important nutrient to cure chronic fatigue is magnesium and zinc among others. Magnesium allows our muscles to relax, it helps the individual to sleep well. Why? when our body become calcium deficient, we can draw from large reserve contained in our bones. But when our body becomes magnesium deficient, we must draw from already low supply in our muscles. As our muscles lose magnesium, calcium charges in to reinstate it and as a consequence our muscles grow uptight and cramped. This can result into debilitating problems and aggravation of CFS symptoms.
Sometimes, environmental toxins can also play a role and therefore lab testing for lead and mercury poisoning needs to be done to rule out the possibility. more
