FDI from China to require Govt approval
the GoI has amended its FDI policy to prevent opportunistic takeovers of Indian companies by foreign firms from neighbouring countries during the Covid-19 pandemic. Attached notification.
There needs to be an approval requirement for all Indian companies having chinese existing investment. question is for startups and smes who could have survived on 10-20 china investment, this may not be a good thing. Views of other members? more

A VERY BOLD AND NECESSARY STEP TAKEN BY THE GOVT. AS CHINA CANNOT BE TRUSTED AS A BUSSINESS PARTNER THE WORLD OVER. THE MSME SECTER AND LOCAL INDUSTRIES SHOULD BE ENCOURAGED TO FULFILL THE DEMAND. IT WILL TAKE TIME TO REORGANISE BUT IT MUST BE DONE. more

Excellent step by our govt.. This applies to new investment only and that too, for a limited period till things stabilize. So for startups as well, this is just a pause, not stop. more

We are going through an extra ordinary situation .The country fully occupied Containing & Treating Covid19 ,already an import from China . WTO can wait till we get over these 2 first stabilizer our Economy to some level then cautiously make decisions . What the GOI has done is a good move . more
