Few points to improve on

1. Make begger free stations. 2. TTE need to ensure the gates are closed during the journey of the train (I believe they are responsible, but seldom see this) 3. Do not allow non-reserved people to enter reserved bogies. 4. Ensure toilets are usable 5. Alert facility for arrival on the registered mobile (if provided). 6. Online reservation convenience charge should be discarded, this actually reduces cost to railways like staff, building, maintenance etc. more  

I fully agree with Suresh PBs above opinions that beggar free stations because these people are the root causes for insecurity & uncleaness in stations & bogies , do not allow non- reserved people to enter reserved bogies, ensure clean toilet and also TTE must visit twice during the journey to see whether genuine passengers are occupies the seats etc. more  
Recently, I was to travel from Hosur (Tamilnadu) to Thrissur (Kerala) by Garib Radh Express at night. I was waiting at the Compartment position for the train to come. The train came. When I went to enter the train, the doors were locked from inside. The train will stop at this stop only for 2 minutes. I started banging on the door. Fortunately for me, one lady who came to the wash basin saw me banging on the door and opened it. I could fortunately enter the train. As soon as I entered the train, it started moving. I understand, the TTR to every compartment will have details of passengers to be boarded in the train from every station it stops. Is it not the duty of the TTR to ensure that the doors and kept open for the passengers to get in the train without any difficulty. I request that this incident has to be taken seriously and do the best for the convenience of the passengers. more  
Railways must find a way to reduce fare n increase speed. Not fare to compete with airlines. When railway takes 50 hrs planes take just 5 hrs. But 2nd. Ac fare is almost equal to air fare inspire of having 100times more traffic . more
