Fictitious MRP scams by Flipkart

I think ministry of consumer affairs and local circles are already working on the ecommerce issues on mrp but here is a classic case.

Lego Product on flipkart that sells in usa for 63000 is listed at a mrp of 4.4 lakhs (legos not real car) and shown at 50% discount to sell for 2.3 lakhs.

Isnt this fictious pricing scam? Please investigate. The depts team should be strong to investigate ecommerce co.s trade practices. more

Why has consumer dept not taken up this issue in a big way more
The MRP on any product is on the high side. You can get the same material through e-marts (flipcart etc) at lesser rate. more
While there may be aprice difference in product prices between US and India but it cannot and should not be as show3n by Rohit. The Govt will do well to make a blanket rule on price markups and discounts , so that customers are not fooled into thinking that they are making a killing in purchasses. However there must be spot checks on complaints such as the one made by Rohit Jain and if such irregularity is established the seller must be severely punished. Dont expect the Govt to become a policeman more
I don't think Govt can keep an eye on every product on every web site. Whether they are doing legit advertising and displaying right MRP. But citizens can be their eye and there should be a forum where this can be reported by citizens and Govt shall take swift action and penalize, until businessmen get penalize, this is going to continue. Make law stricter. more
In 1995 the consumer associations in India have placed a demand before the Central Government to appoint a Price Regulatory Committee to fix MRPs of products . The then Consumer Affairs Minister Mr. AK Antony has appointed a Committee to study the subject and submit report. But thereafter nothing happened. Now it is high time to raise the demand again. more
