Fighting corruption
Few years back we all Indians were hopeless about stopping corruption. Although we see less corruption on the level of ministers and politicians in past 3 years, there are many things to be done in order to make India corruption free nation :
1. Transparency : In my opinion this is the best solution to prevent corruption.
A. All the Gov Dept's public functions must be made online and status of each application / query /suggestion must be visible to everyone. There should be max period defined for a particular type of application/request for a particular officer/level , and it should be automatically escalated to next level after that defined time. Gov has implemented for few crucial deptt like Aims , passport etc , but needed for all.
B. All the places of public dealing/ purchase meetings must have security cameras installed.
C. Record of each employee (#complaints handled vs assigned etc) should be displayed next to him.
2. Cashless Economy : If the transactions are traceable, the corruption will reduce. Most of the bribes are given in cash or kind. Current drive for demonetization has prepared a good platform for cashless transactions. But the transaction charges must be reduced to almost Zero.
3. Bold steps like Demonetization : The steps like demonetization should be a possibility all the time , so that people who are stashing money can be deterred from doing so.
4. Funding of Political parties : Unless funding of political parties is transparent , we can't expect drastic changes. Although our EC and PM both have requested for reforms in political funding; some concrete steps must be taken in this regard. more
