Filing ITR2
I need more help in filling the ITR2 long term capital gains -
1. Under which head, long term capital gain from sale of debt mutual funds has to be filled in ( funds held for more than 3 years) , in sheet CG of ITR2
2. Short term capital gain on sale of debt mutual funds within a year, is it to be shown under interest income or under short term capital gain in sheet CG.

Dear Brij Guptaji 1. .LTCG. Your sale value to be shown under 7-ii. and cost of acquisition under 7-b-i 2. For Short Term gain- record sale value in 5 a-ii. cost of acquisition show under 5-b-i more

It will be better if you take help of good C A.As any mistake committed by you will be more costly and time consuming to resolve. more

Short term capital gains from Debt fund are to shown under A-5-a ii of ITR2. LTCG be shown under B 7 a ii. more

Thanks Pradeep ji, I have cost of acquisition with indexation from the fund house. I want to know in which row it has to be filled in - in 7 b i or 7 b ii more

First you have to find out cost of acquisition and adding it inflation index cost, you will find cost of acquisition with indexation, which is to be filled. Then ITR will autmatically calculate LTCG.cost inflation index is available on google search also. more
