Filing of False FIR
If someone files a fraudulent FIR against us in a different far away state stating that car with my number plate was involved in a hit and run accident killing someone, how can one protect themselves?

I would say there should be law for and wrong /fraudlant FIR raised by police.second point is even if you lodge the complaint Police will say give me writing and I will register the complaint later. Why police is not registering the complaint on the spot and instantly? and issue a FIR immediately. You know the reason behind it is they will communicate to concern person against whom you have lodge the complaint and take some bribe to settle the case. Next day they will threaten you not to lodge the complaint and he will tell you this will be problem to you. This is height of our police department and nobody is going against it. We all have teo take up this issue in our local/circle. more

I too had a similar experience like Mr.Virmani. A couple of years back I was stuck up in a very bad traffic jam which extended for more than 2-3 kms near Airport Road (Mahipalpur)...it was during summer and I was on a 2-wheeler. Since there was no movement of traffic and we were at a place where there was neither any traffic lights nor any traffic cops to man the manage the traffic....it was a mess due to some dignitary visiting and perhaps the traffic was intentionally stopped. My younger son had to appear for his exams and I had to leave instructions for him as I could not see myself reaching home. I had switched off the vehicle like many and I made a quick call home..however there was an Innova parked next to me and I caught hold of a person in Uniform trying to take note of my vehicle number. I showed him the vehicle number.Immediately on reaching home I posted to Mirror Now newspaper about the traffic mess and lack of police enforcement. Next day beside my article, even Times carried a picture of the crowd stuck in the jam with a nice write up. A week letter I got a challan which cited traffic light jumping violation. I went to the Police Station with a clipping and inquired with the Officer that if a cop was indeed there, why was there traffic pile up. I asked him to register my complaint against the cop who issued me the challan and told them that I would prove that Delhi Traffic cops were lapse in their duty..dereliction of duty besides harassment of public. I will share a live example wherein my vehicle was challaned for traffic violation in an area where the vehicle had never gone to the area/ spot indicated in the challan. Many people advised me to deposit money with the police and get rid of all other hassles in proving that the challan was erroneous and may be more expenses in getting it reversed. The complaint was taken up appropriately with the senior officials and within 15 days of the complaint, a confirmation was received from the concerned DCP stating that the challan has been reversed. I never visited the concerned office physically. The example is being written here only with the perspective that we need to raise issue appropriately with the appropriate authorities specially when the email communication is free. more

You need to record your activities that where was your vehicle during that particular period.Make more evidences and keep with you to prove that I + my vehicle was at so and so place, at that time and it is not true. Our Police will try to threaten you to make money out of it. In that case you should not loose the patience.Escalate matter to Higher up. more
