A friend recently found worms in a chocolate and my sister found needle in poha packets.
When something like this happens, do fssai officers actually act or keep pointing to companies.

FSSAI @ FDA are not organizations to go shop to shop checking the products . They are just the agencies whick frame instructions laws and give away licenses for the manufacturers @ entrepreneurs ,. It is really a cushy job .When consumers complaint they insist on proof . So we have to have Proof . So mallika I am not discouraging you . You could have atleast taken pictures of what you claimed was in the packet while posting atleast to us. While raising complaint you must have the product also . IT IS ALL TOO CUMBERSOME SO I BUY ONLY FRESHLY MAD FOOD AS WELL AS SWEETS . IF ONE SEES ANY WORM ,PIN CAN AVOID . more

Maybe the Poha Company gave the needle inside the pack as complementary...no? Wasn't there any mention on the pack about this? Also it is possible that they might have given the needle so that you could needle the FSSAI with it and prod them into action. more

FSSAI is yet to make the presence felt in the minds of food consumers, retailers or large food manufacturers. if it is so then what they have covered, it appears, is only formulation of guidelines ? Is that end of it or some more is urgently required to be done on monitoring aspect ? is yet to be understood by FSSAI. Not clear - how many mor years will be taken to understand it by FSSAI. more

I think we all are getting ourselves misdirected. The institutions are all fine the problem lies with our judiciary system. Unless and until the judiciary is cleaned up and we the common citizens of this country put our trust on the judiciary things will continue like this. You may please recall how the police solved the Noida school murder mystery with the helper of the school bus which later the CBI resolved the case arresting a boy from Class XI of the same school. The poor helper took the brunt. While at the same time our CBI, the premium investigating institution of our country, is helpless today because Mr Karti Chidambaram is not sharing the passwords of his mobile phone and his laptop. Both the persons are citizens of this country protected by the same constitution and served by the same judiciary. Therefore, our movements should be to rectify our judiciary system. By blaming various institutions we are getting misdirected. Why not we move together to rectify the judiciary? more
