Fire at Kamala Mill Compound - Mumbai

There are certain norms in existence before providing occupancy certificate for any building. Especially, National Building Code 20 & 70 takes care about all requirements. but if the authorities are bypassing the same, these type of fires are going to happen with fatalities & injuries. Myself is from engineering occupation and have gone through these norms. Also, wishes to deliver lectures on electrical shock, Safety & fire including audit of buildings. But there is less response. People opens their eyes only when such causalities took place and nobody bother to understand myth and to adhere the same. Only we can say "condolence messages". This is pity on citizens like all of us. more

We have to understand the ground reality across the country, irrespective of the states, cities, etc. (There may be only a few exceptions). 1. The amount of money spent on corruption & bribing is much higher especially in metro cities and well off states than the money is used to higher consultants to design the projects or apply brains for the same. 2. It is a compulsion for most people & companies to cough up the bribe money. It is only in exceptional cases that the bribe is reduced or eliminated. 3. There is a huge lack of professional staff in most development authorities, municipality corporations, and other regulatory bodies. Which is why they have so much of corruption and gladly overlook the basics. 4. Most cities are over populated. We are producing babies like ants. Where will those people go? The amount of workload that has increased simply because of the exploding population, the authorities are not at all prepared to take care of. Most authorities were built or set up looking at the 1960s, 70s... The workload then was nothing as compared to now. Add lack of infrastructure, staff, incompetence, corruption,etc... You have the same disasters everywhere.. 5. There is enough talent in this country to easily take care of the matters... The question is .. If they do, where will the corrupt go? This is the reason why we have disasters every where. more
Rs. 2000/- only seems to be a very small amount :-) more
Our goal of achieving good governance could be achieved only when Corruption, Black Money and Concealed Wealth is captured and eradicated once for all through Bank, Cards, e-mail transfers and Postal Orders restricting Cash Sale or Purchase at Rs.2,000/-. more
I am very much doubt how could such a fire engulf this place? Therefore a through inquiry from higher up is the at most need of the hour so that no lives are lost. more
