Fire safety in buildings are Not Taken Seriously

Why are so many fires reported in Delhi during lockdown ?
Factories are shut.
Migrants have been relocated to their native places
And there is less congestion in and around Slums of Delhi.

Every building that is more than 15 meters high Needs a Fire Safety Certificate, before residents are allowed to move in
Is this applicable to New Buildings?
Even New Residential Buildings, higher than 15 meters are extending Illegal areas into the backlanes & people are moving in,giving a damn to their own safety or safety of people living in neighborhood.

We are so much engrossed with Corona Virus that Others as Killers,be it germs or greedy humans are not 'Cared for' by the relevant authorities.

Let me simplify the concept of 15 meters as height of the building.
Tie up just 3 sarees & hang them from top of the building.
Look around.
There are plenty of buildings, higher than length of 3 sarees, put together from one end of each saree.

Department of Fire Safety is Not Responsible for Illegal Constructions, which have become a Norm in Delhi.

Slums are made on Lal Dora Land ( originally made for agricultural purposes,100 years ago ) and rules of Corporation are not Applicable on Lal Dora Land.
There are 2000 ( two thousands plus ) slums in Delhi, where No Rules are Applicable.
One can see Vertical Growth of buildings on small plots.
Rooms are given for rental purposes to Migrant workers, while wealthy farmers, the owners of these lands grow richer by Doing No Farming on Fertile Agricultural Lands and they earn through rental incomes @ lakhs/month

Ditto for rest of Delhi covered under rules of MCD.

Is Fire Safety responsibility of people working for it?
What about you and me,the ordinary folks?

Are Our lives more precious than these warriors fighting fires everyday, risking their lives.?

Do Write an Email to Fire Safety & get a reply that email has been forwarded to MCD &
Complaint made by anyone keeps moving in circles.

If area police is aware about certain buildings, breaking the rules, endangering lives due to Fires, police cannot evade responsibility
Police can approach the Courts & do the Needful. more

Isn't't a sad scenario? We have got all sorts of Rules and Laws in place but, alas, no implementation. If, as suggested, cleansing of congested areas should be done before a calamity strikes, then, I fear, majority of residential complexes including slums would have to be uprooted. And that will be yet another "calamitous" undertaking. At least not in a democratic setup. more
If slums & unauthorised structures can be removed to build flyovers, metro rails, widen the existing roads to make highways etc etc why should we not be hopeful about positive outcomes through relevant agencies ? more
Dr. Neelam concerns are true. If she is PhD, then she should identify a group to study and to issue a policy policy prescription and sustainable solutions. more
My prescription for disease called Illegal Constructions
1)approach area police
2)approach corporation
3)approach fire safety
4)meet area SDM along with proofs of illegalities
All of above need proofs-
Be ready with MCD approved Map,Completion Certificate,Fire Safety certificate in case issued, Pictures of illegal structures added

Wait for few years for recovery from illness caused by Might is Right Syndrome
If No Recovery is felt during first years,do proceed along with a lawyer & file a case in the Court
Have faith in Highest Court
Criminals as mighty people cannot murder the person who dared to complain
Regards. more
Why do you doubt my concerns about fire safety? Rules are broken by we the people & lives of people on duty are lost. Does anyone care before adding tons of additional structures? Maybe lives of law breakers are as cheap as they presume lives of other innocents who are law abiding citizens. more
Good morning ji, It's true n we are not enough serious. On Mon, 13 Jul, 2020, 10:53 Dr. Neelam Nath, wrote: > more
Why do the authorities wait till some calamity to happen then take acttion . Dont they know there are rules and regulations while signing up approval for Building Plan .The person who has signed should be taken to task . more
Dr Neelam is right. Laws for every rise, 15 meters or more, of buildings is in place. But where is the lawfulness. The very authorities who grant livable certificates shut their eyes to systematic violation after violation. more
