Fireworks Tonight
Pollution is at its peak again..like one of the members said 500+ and yet no one seems to be in charge, no one answerable.
is Delhi going to allow fireworks tonight. Why is there no communication from CPCB, NGT, Delhi Govt, MCD. Currently they are allowed and we have many fools amongst us who would wear masks and burn them.
I guess they just dont care at all. more

it is very sad that allowed by Delhi Govt. even we were not allowed on our great festival Diwali due to pollution, why double standard ? more

Thanks to the SC directives. i would also thank Delhites for following strictly the SC directives in as much as not firing crackers on New Year Day. more

Seema here is some food for thought. Concerned citizens like yourself need to push for banning of the PRODUCTION of firecrackers and rehabilitation of the workers of the firecracker industry. Just banning the sale and banning the burning of firecrackers is a fix but not the solution. The government needs to have a clear policy on the matter. We need to make all efforts to make it a vote getting issue :-) more

Yes, Fire crackers shouldbe banned. Only now the atmosphere is slowly improving. Use of fire crackers would once again worsen the pollution, however miniscule the effect may be. Government ban offire crackers during Diwali had a partial effect and the pollution increase was minimal at that time.Similar measure now would be of help. Vaidyanathan more
