First Aid/Emergency Response at Stations

Some of you have raised the concern in the circle about lack of first aid, stretcher at stations.

With this post, we would like to seek your inputs on how should first aid/medical support infrastructure be made more accessible at stations in case of medical emergencies.

Also, you may share ideas on quantities (for example one suggestion received was 1 stretcher and first aid kit per 5000 daily foot fall)

We look forward to your inputs and thereafter doing best possible to improve first aid/medical emergency support at stations. more

First Aid At Railway Station 1 Most of the Railway Stations are close to the city. Wherever a Registered Doctor has a clinic or Nursing Home within one KM of Railway Station, the Station Staff should have the contact details and the services of such doctor could be availed. 2 A First Aid Box be made available with each Station Master. 3 Provision of a Shift Doctor, a clinic with stretcher may be considered for major junctions. more
Sir I am daily passenger of Railway from Amritsar. It is daily observed by me that passengers daily suffer on the hands of the Station Master Amritsar due to his miss management. Since Amritsar is a terminal Railway Station and in early morning there are number of trains departing from it at short intervals. Station Master opens a few ticket counters where as other remains closed. Then there are long ques and it takes usually half an hour in getting tickets and even some time they mis train or are compelled to travelling without tickets without having bad intension but due to unavoidable circumstances and have to pay penalty for which they are not responsible but the railway authority himself. Many times people get indisciplined in intension to get the ticket before the departure of train. In spite of knowing all this the Station Master Amritsar do not bother about the inconvenience and harassment faced by general public especially ladies with kids and the senior citizens. Hon'ble Minister kindly look into public inconvenience and instruct Station Master of open All the ticket counters and also open the ticket counters on Goalbagh side also which remain closed on early morning and late evening. Due to which pilgrims coming from Golden Temple get harassment daily. Hoping for your kind intervention please. With Regards Harbhajan Lal Senoir Citizen. The first aid box is required in case of emergencies like accident. Let there be provision for the same, in the custody of the AC coach conductor or let there be a provision in all compartments. more

It is of concern of each and every passenger. Railways can employ a doctor and one ANM, may be on contract basis. For smaller stations it can be only for one set. According to status of station the contract can be for 3 sets each one of 8 hour. Some elderly doctors can be on honorary basis. But to such doctor include him / her in local railway committee. Let one of the medical shop offer first aid medicines. At Many places in Indian states Ayurvedic doctors are available to work on contractual basis. > On 29-Sep-2016, at 14:00, Ministry Of Railways wrote: > > Find this email inappropriate - Unsubscribe > LocalCircles is now available on iOS and Android. more
