Fitness frauds
(i) Eye exercises to remove spectacles (as exercises act only on weak muscles to provide strength to make movement of eyeballs in order, and not on the dioptric power of the cornea or the lens),
(ii) Herbal medicines for discarding glasses (as no medicine has so far been developed that acts to correct any error of refraction thereby eliminating the need of spectacles),
(iii) Pinhole spectacles to correct refractive error (as a pinhole disk is a diagnostic device that tells the eye care practitioner about the extent of improvement in vision possible with the use of glasses...and as wearing of a multiple pinhole device will simply lead to making a `spectacle' of yourself), and
(iv) Homoeopathic/ayurvedic/allopathic eye drops to cure cataract (as research hasn't so far proved the efficacy of any medicine in any system to cure cataract, which is the opacification of the lens inside the eye, and the modern, proven cure being the surgical removal of the diseased lens and its replacement with an artificial intra ocular lens [IOL]).
So, let's take a pledge not to fall prey to these tempting medical frauds. The best advice, of course, is to visit one's eye doctor preferably on yearly basis.
