Flight cancellations must be penalised

Just like a passenger showing 2 minutes late at check in counter is booted.

- works in Bengaluru
- wants to meet her mom in Delhi
- booked a ticket for ₹5,000 2 months ago cause it's cheap
- on the day of travel at the airport, the airline canceled his flight and refunded the ₹5,000
- now the other flight costs ₹12,000

Is it really fair?

This LocalCircles survey is really good but it should also ask question in unfair trade practices by airlines more

Such actions are not at all fair. In case of cancellations, it is the responsibility of the airline to book and arrange a seat for the passenger in any other airline, maybe +/-2 hours but not more. more

Yes, the airline cancelling the flight should arrange an alternate flight. more

They must not have cancelled your booked flight. They should be penalised. more

i do agree- its very bad practice prevailing in INDIA - airlines must be penalised more
