Govt. is not supporting Indian economy but interested not only to invite east India co but all North, East, west, south India co.s to come in our country more  

We want to liberalize our economy but still keep making stupid laws and fool ourselves by relaxing it slowly. Barring entry of walmart should be welcomed and unnecessary restrictions removed. India wanted to become a socialist country but it was hypocrisy and never embraced socialism or capitalism. Till 1992 we were socialists and then rejected socialism halfheartedly. We did not turn to capitalism. Even in this we used the principle of rationing. To such an extent we were happy to be at rank 142 in ease of doing business. Did not even realize it. Then we started clapping when Modi improved the rank to 100. Govt has declared intention of achieve rank of 50. But we will be led there like a bride in the pandal so that we are not jolted. Every step in the direction of liberalization has been criticized. When malls opened some had problems. Even today airIndia disposal is subject of criticism. Country must make up its mind whether we want bonded economy with control regime or liberal economy. We can choose the path and mile stones and leave administration to work out pace. more

Mr Jain, your comment appears to be way off the mark and leaves certain more basic questions to be answered. a) Walmart has already made a strong attempt in India in collaboration with Bharti when they set up the easyday chain. The same failed and eventually Future group took it over b) E-commeece has been a boon to the Indian consumer who was getting fleeced by traders. Declared prices were and at still rare except at the big retail chains like bigbazaaf and the likes. These chains were itself the target of the same traders who seem to be looking for a protected environment again not to now give a fair deal to the customer but go back to their old ways c) There are millions or let's easily say over 90%/of these traders who hold assets worth multiple crores, big cars, big bungalows who on paper are actually paupers as they have never paid any taxes. Correct me if I am wrong here but we have all witnessed this blatantness. Again, it does not matter to the customer if they get a fair deal but charging taxes and then creating duplicate bills, fudged accounts and eating away the customers money has been rampant and blatant. d) Also on paper when they ran loss making businesses only or marginal profit ones, then these same traders are welcome to take up jobs which have better pay than the earnings they have shown for decades. Then why suddenly they want the government to hear them. What is there to protect - losses / marginalised income? e) Honest business for the first time appears to be growing and benefitting the whole society and the country as a whole. This honest business does not fear a Walmart as a competitor because they have their open place and customers despite a Walmart, amazon, or anyone. more
