In the season of monsoons, our country is subjected to a severe flood situation this year.

Few states of our country have a geographical location where flood does not swallow the cities and villages.

Other states of east-west-north-south in our country have been adversely affected due to flood.

Flood handling team are trained the year round.

Brunt of Kaliyug. Linking of Rivers was one project since Ninety Fifties, which was never pursued & now Modi Govt is trying to do something & NGOs like Medha Phadkar are opposing. Floods can be controlled with good governance & will more
Drainage system in every city should be such that it flows from higher to lower level towards the river and from there after water treatment towards the sea and then the ocean. These drains should be deep enough to take in rain water to. Most drains in India are now swallow and the slope not constructed properly. Moreover the performance of the city municipality in drain unclogging maintenance is horrible in India. Waste management also poses a big issue during rainy season. more
This should be done throughout India. Recycling in waste water will promote farming through irrigation and irradiated water shortage in different parts of India. more
The waste water must be recycled & put to good use. Nitin Gadkari has done it for the city of Nagpur more
The implementation of SAGAR MALA(linking of rivers) can minimize problem to a great extent. NDRF can play a very limited role in minimizing destruction. more
This situation has been going on for years. Why has not the government done something about it? Where floods occur, they should have left large pieces of land vacant so that the flood waters could be channeled there but due to greed and laziness this has not been done and as a result the poor are suffering like anything year after year. more
'Govt' to do something about it! It must be 'Govts'. They partially failed in this respect since after independence. They worked less on obviating floods & more on neglecting them while creating individual funds out of on going projects then. The dredging (fake) of rivers in a state, in 1970s, during realm of 2 CMs, coincidentally real brothers, was a burning example. more
