FOG TRAFFIC ADVISORY
As the winter season advances foggy days may be expected ahead. It is advised that motorists observe certain precautions to avoid accidents and related injuries. Motorists are advised to take following measures to avoid mishaps due to fog:- • Know your destination, plan the route before you set out and keep extra time at hand. • Keep your vehicle in good condition. Make sure everything is in working order, especially lights, brakes, tyres, windscreen wipers, radiator, battery and car heating system. • If possible keep a high visibility jacket and torch in the car so that you can see and be seen in case you get out of the car. • Keep safe distance from your front & side vehicles and avoid tail-gating. • Drive with lights on low beam. High beams get reflected back in the fog and impair visibility. Turn on fog lights if visibility is reduced to less than 100 meters. Reduce speed and slow down, watch speedometer, don’t overdrive your headlights. • During fog and occasional rain, road could be slippery. Be careful on slippery roads. • Do not attempt to overtake other vehicles. • Use the right edge of the road or painted road markings/central divider as a guide and be patient. • One needs to keep an eye on the road and use one’s ears more carefully to judge traffic that cannot be seen. • Turn off music and don’t eat, drink, smoke while driving. • Do not stop on a freeway or busy roads. • If fog is very thick, it is best to pull over somewhere safe and wait for the fog to diminish. • Drive in your lane & be patient All motorists are advised to follow these precautions for their own safety as well as the safety of other road users. Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic : New Delhi.
Agree, this time no farmers to blame. Air quality back to very poor. This too, long after the episodic stubble burning. Pollutants washed by rain. Mostly dieselisation of transportation here is what has changed in last 24 years, followed by construction activity. Indian passenger vehicle sales in October 2020 were up 14.2% y/y to 310,294 units versus 271,737 units in October 2019. Just as well Tesla Motors is coming here, or otherwise our indian manufacturers would keep on producing more internal combustion engine cars. In balance, farmers are providing us the basic cereals that we need for sustenance, at least. Decrimininalising of burning farm residues, that government conceded, was much needed. more
And will centre govt machinery and Delhi police support this good initiative ? more
Why Kejriwal only? NDM is also there is center, Why he can't be blamed? more
