Having known that the govt. agencies are hopeless and useless how can we depend on them.So we ourselves shall constitute local circles and conduct awareness camps so as to avoid those items more
Mr. How would a comman men know that the food item or the fruits and vegetables that he is buying is adulterated or has been chemicalised which is detrimental to peoples life. Why is the onus on the people every time. There are government agencies which were specifically formed to do this job and punish the adulteraters the personnels working in these departments are paid hefty salaries for the taxpayers money.... yes we must make enough pressure so that they work and produce results. Incompetency and inefficiency must not be rewarded. more
Governments State Trading Corporation if expanded and extended in the essential Food Products including perishables , all Business ills and menace of Middlemen will get curtailed SINCE IT IS NOT EASY TO MADE THE BUSINESSING TRADERS & AGENCIES STICK TO ETHICS OF Health and Safety . more
The answer to Rachna's question is simple: Complete apathy of the powers that be toward public health. Not just health, but public amenities, conveniences, hardships and difficulties. You just need to look at public roads, workings of government offices and departments, public transport and so on. This has been the bane of our country. Last year I found a live cockroach in in a plum-cake purchased from a leading retailer. I lodged a written complaint with the local health authorities. Their examination of the sample I submitted said it was unfit for human consumption. Yet the concerned officer dilly-dallied for months about taking some corrective action. Finally out of disgust I stopped following up. YOU COULD FIND THE SAME SAD STORIES IN VARIOUS OTHER DEPARTMENTS AS WELL. That also speaks of our 'National Character' which is unique to every country. As a writer I've written many times in newspapers, including editorials about this malady afflicting our country, I think to no avail. Only an acknowledgment of this malady and a shift in the hearts and minds of our people might bring about a corresponding change in our rulers. Then things might change. more
Mr. Akbar, I agree with you about the apathy of the government officials. These days we find adulterated cooking oils, adulterated and fake ghee, masalas and what not..... also our fruits and vegetables are chemicalised ... our water and air is becoming poisonous......... and nobody seems to be worried about it. more
