Food in Rajdhani express

Why is the standard of food onboard the Rajdhani express' so bad. I and wife often travel on the Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani and each time our experience has been bad. What is being with so much of money that we have to pay for such 'premium' trains? more

They think whatever food items prepared must be sold without waste, but with shelf life and expiry they are not in line with service and hygiene norms. Wastage can be minimized with what is estimated with quality service.Not below quality and not sold. Organizing things should follow professional approach in minimizing risks of consumer services.Food supply for passengers can't be a profit-oriented business, but service oriented. more

We passengers are partly responsible for such negligence. Majority of us wish to keep silent onlookers role; even not prepared for taking the position of watchdog role. Any observation of non satisfaction should be complained on real time basis; then we can see an improvement in services. more  
Well, train food has been in news for a long time and rightly so. There was a time when two veg+ curd + dal + rice and chapati / rumali + a small amount of green salad was standard in Rajdhani/ shatabdi. there were two options for icecream and in certain trains ( kathgodm shatabdi) there was option of fruit jelly as well. But, now making money is more important than service. As long as trains are running full, railways do-not have to bother to improve service. Only hope is that if train speeds improve by 10-15%, probably one meal will be knocked off. more  
There are so many problem face by travelers in premium trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto. Attendant not care for passengers even they are not giving water on demand. Every person need at least 2 bottles (2 liters) of drinking water in 24 hrs. In summer it's increase to 3/4 litters per 24 hrs. Food serve by attendant totally unhygienic. Secondly in every coach they load commercial shipment for business houses and earn every day 1500.00 to 2000.00 as carrier. This is unofficially. Request to Rly Minister Sir, Please suddenly check specially Northeast bound trains. Not only Rajdhani but every train 3 tier Ac , 2 tier Ac and 1st Ac too. In premium trains there are dynamic fares, and ZERO service to Rail commuters. more
