Food Quality in Railways - Inputs on Issues
Not only quality, quantity also need to be verified / checked. There should be display of price list of items sold by pantry car in each & every compartment. The food items should adhere to the weights & measurements. Stringent action should be initiated on the spot on the defaulters. Packed items like cool drinks / biscuits should be sold only for MRP. Even stalls on the station platforms should be monitored. Public should be educated to lodge complaints and huge penalties imposed on defaulters. License of such persons indulging in malpractices should be cancelled on the spot and sent to prison for 3 - 6 months.
Complaint books should be kept with the TTE's also as against the present system of complaint books being kept with TC / Gaurd / Pantry car manager. Also the status of action taken should be informed to the persons who had lodged complaints either by email / SMS. more
