At first it is necessary to understand the effect on food on body, activities and mindset. As per our vedic culture, there was tradition for preferring food habits on the basis of Doha by Saint Kabir Das - "Jaisa Bhojan Kijiye Vaisa Hi Mana Hoye, Jaisa Paani Pijiye Taisi Vani Hoye." it means - "As you eat, so becomes your heart & soul. As you drink, so are the words that come out." He pointed out that eating healthy makes you and your life awesome (in short). According to Reg Vedas, food is divided into 3 main categories- Saatvic Bhojan Raajsic Bhojan Tamsic Bhojan Saatvic Bhojan This is what Jain people eat. Without spices, onion or any vegetables that has roots in it. Saada Bhojan (Simple and Fresh Food) It is based on the mentality of 'SAADA BHOJAN, UCHH VICHAAR'. (Good Food, Good Thoughts) Raajsic Bhojan This food is for the people who loves eating food. They live to eat and not eat to live. It includes all the spices and root vegetables. These kind of people are more attached to their bodies and they simply wants to satisfy the needs of their body parts, e.g. their tongue in this case. Just the way they eat, the same way they act. They think of the things which will satisfy their unnecessary desires (mann ko lubhane wali cheeze). When desires grow, expectations grow and when expectations grow, a person can never be happy. Tasmic Bhojan This is the worst category of food. It includes all kind of food, veg as well as non-veg. This type of food is considered as sin, because it generates all sorts of negative thoughts and emotions in one self. It generates negative emotions, such as - sexual desires, anger, hatred etc etc. So too much concentration on food and food processing items as many more alternatives are available, it is to understand the human value and try to develop those by experience, knowledge and involvement with society. Yoga and Meditation and little bit habit of religious practice on daily basis like SANDHYA VANDAN, STUDY OF VEDAS OCCASIONALLY AND TRY TO UNDERSTAND IMPORTANCE OF HUMAN LIFE AND FOCUS OF IMPLEMENTATION OF GREAT DEEDS OF RISHIES, WARRIORS, IDEAL EXAMPLES AND QUOTES FROM RELIGIOUS BOOKS TO MAINTAIN OUR LIVES MORE DISCIPLINED, AFFECTIONATE, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND SHARING WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.
