When my friends and I were active in the NGO Pennurimai Iyakkam, on two occasions we wrote a letter to the Supreme Court of India and it was taken as a writ petition by them. The SC sent the letter to the High Court and asked them to take up the matters and render justice. One was the unnatural death of a college lecturer in Tirupur Tamilnadu where the powers that be sought to dismiss it as suicide whereas the delinguent husband was not above suspicion and later was charged with her murder. The other was the illegal confiscation of catamarans and fishing gear from the traditional fishing communities by the Corporation of Madras under the guise of beautification of the beach. The Corporation (then Commissioner was Shri Malaisamy) was forced to return the catamarams to the beaches from where they were lifted and transported elsewhere and the fisherfolk got their goods back. Hence I suggest a direct appeal to the Chief Justice of India, Supreme Court , New Delhi may have a positive outcome. Today I read that three SC judges delayed their attendance in a five judge court in order to deliver a judgment where a major was sought to be declared as minor and separated from her husband by her parents. They perused the medical records that confirmed her age as above 18 and within 10 minutes declared her decision to marry a person of her choice could not be contested by her parents. The only solution to this corruption-ridden governance by political leadership in India is to bring together a group of non-political, non-commercial, and non-religious people from across the country on a platform, numbering a total of approximately 50,000 citizens, known for their honesty, sincerity, and commitment to the well being of the country. These people will join the group with an affidavit signed before the oath commissioner to commit to the Aims & Objects of the group and are willing to fight elections at any of the 4-tiers - Parliament, State, District, and Civic Agencies. Procedure for filing a PIL or Letter Petition is given in the website of the Supreme Court. There is a PIL Cell. You can download the same from there, provide the required information and send the same online or under Speed Post or deposit the PIL by hand.

Government is not interested to do anything to curb corruption. They are busy in projecting themselves for votes in Karnataka and 2019 elections. Their policies were nearly reduced to ashes in gujarat elections, where they had boasted of getting 150 seats and got 99. Better to look for other new options more

Yes, fight against corruption should be the top priority of the govt. Until the LoKpal is appointed, PM must start a separate cell in the PMO and in each & every District, Block & Panchayat level where common man can approach for complain. Complete transparency should be maintained. Action should be visible on ground. more
