For unauthorised and illegal constructions booked by MCD, what is the strategy of AAP, BJP or Congress ?
Since 25 January 2006, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) puts the list of unauthorized and illegal constructions booked on www.mcdonline.gov.in. This happened after Delhi High Court asked MCD to make the list public so that those planning to buy houses or shops can check the status of the properties besides giving an opportunity to guilty property owners to remove illegal constructions on their own. Thereafter bribing MCD officers to get illegal construction approved has become extremely difficult. There are more than 30,000 such properties in Delhi which are listed on MCD website. Important thing to note is that there are many more such properties in Delhi which should have been booked (eligible under booking criteria) but have not been booked by MCD.
None of the parties (AAP, BJP, Congress) have taken any clear stand for unauthorized and illegal constructions booked by MCD. Note that this is different from Unauthorized Colonies Issue (which is being catered in AAP Manifesto). Should the forthcoming Delhi Government not do something about these families (1 Lac+ Voters) whose properties are booked by MCD just to get bribes every now and then ? more

All those suffering due to MCD booking have been severely impacted. For them getting relief from MCD booking would be like a huge bonanza. If we look at the number of people and the impact (in terms of expenses, and legal limitations), then this issue deserves equal significance for any political party in the coming elections. Now the advantage here is only to the property dealers and many such innocent families are suffering due to this problem at present. I hope that this issue is also brought up during this election campaign. more

The First & Utmost Priority should be Supply of 24 x 7 Clean & Pure Drinking Water to all the residents of Delhi / New Delhi at very reasonable / cheap rates which neither the Congress Govt. nor the BJP Govt. could do so far. Had the Shiela Dixit Govt. privatized the Drininking Water or could ensure its availability at reasonable / cheap rates in clean/pure drinking water, nobody could defeat her Govt. even for 15 years more. Though the Electricity was available 24x7 after its privatization, which helped her win the elections even though the Congress in the Central Govt. had acted adversely against the public interest by sealing the shops and establishments in the residential areas through back door and all the small shop-keepers, traders, bread earners were ruined. Hence, supply of 24x7 clean and pure drinking water at reasonable rates should be the first priority, otherwise People will be left with no alternative, but to opt for New Comers Like Arvind Kejriwal. So Water WATER and Water is the need of the hour. more
