Forcibly Junking Private Vehilces in the excuse of age in Delhi is inhuman
Delhi Sarkaar has artificially banned 10 year old private diesel vehicles & 15 year old private petrol vehicles in the excuse of age. Whereas pollution producing vehicles have not been challaaned.
In a poor country like India, it takes a lifetime of saving to buy vehicles. Unfortunately the force by which the Delhi Police & Delhi Government Transport Department is picking up vehicles illegally is inhuman and forces artificial poverty by compelling people to junk their well maintained vehicles and buy new unverified vehicles.
Most unfortunate part is LACK OF SCIENTIFIC OPEN HEARTED FAIR DISCUSSIONS FOLLOWED BY NEEDED REMEDIES TO BE FOLLOWED.

Poor people on the streets ultimately have their lungs soak up mostly diesel particulate matter (see note attached) causing pollution. Why should they, leading the most environmentally sustainable lives, have to bear this? We need their presence for performing your menial tasks and this is how we treat them, while paying these manual workers the bare minimum? Morality too demands justice for those affected by our lifestyle choices related pollution. https://www.hindustantimes.com/cities/delhi-news/in-revamped-grap-ban-on-diesel-car-when-air-severe-101657736285114.html

It's really unfortunate, despite all such measures, pollution in Delhi & NCR hardly got improved in last couple of years. It's rather worsening. Govt. always is busy in blame game only. So far we are not able to clean up our roads and address the waste management issue well, such ban of well maintained vehicle will never get the problem solved. It will be a better practice to identify the polluted vehicles irrespective of years and ban them.

Predatory economics behind this, when cheap diesel, the subsidy thereon paid for ultimately by the taxpayer, led to widespread adoption of diesel vehicles. Blind towards environment, economic policies make out with our planet's future, wherein fossil fuels are priced such that they serve this consumption. Only technology has somewhat been the saving factor, making economically possible the integration of environment into the socio-economic equation, with solar panels being made more affordable, public transportation going electric and vehicle engines running on CNG.

Pollution became the excuse. No sympathy needed with those who benefitted from subsidised fuel, mostly diesel, costs to purchase their vehicles contributing towards pollution. Agree that this rule of making the life of cars just 10 or 15 years benefiting automobile manufacturers alone, is arbitrary where a nation's resources remain limited. Polluted air being breathed by those on the streets is inhuman. What about them? Poor mostly lead completely environmentally. Delhi's national capital region status, has caused the state been exceedingly at the receiving end too. Pollution laws in Delhi's neighbouring states being lax, makes such drastic measures necessary to contain pollution. Delhi, after all had the world's largest CNG bus fleet as also metro rail, both green transportation, alternatives, who between them carry about 1 crore passengers every day, saving the environment.
