Foreign MBBS doctors(Indians citizens)

Urgent Need to help the Indian students who go to foreign countries to study MBBS as the competition is high and less medical colleges in India,so they go to foreign countries to pursue there dream of becoming a doctor and then they come back in the hope to be able to work in their country INDIA,where there is shortage of qualified MBBS doctors, and 80-90% of rural area have unqualified quacks practicing without any threats and leading a happy life. While these qualified MBBS graduates (FMG`s) are not allowed to practice even in rural areas or undergo a non clinical post graduation like forensic,radio..or even pursue there career in teaching and around lakhs of such citizens of India after better education from countries like carribeans, russia, china are forced into unemployement and sitting in there homes struggling with the toughest screening exam called FMGE.This exam should be replaced by a rural posting under a senior doctor i.e one year internship and compulsory rural for foreign medical graduates under supervision of a senior doctor and after that they should be given registration as before 2002,there was no such exam and never any case reported of any negligence by a FMG doctor.Hence my humble request to the current govt. is that building medical colleges and increasing seats will be a long process, instead to meet the current shortage of docs, the govt, should help the unemployed foreign medical graduate doctors and gradually try to increase the number of medical colleges and seats,so no indian citizen would need to go to foreign land to pursue their dream to become a doctor. more

FMGE is only discouraging doctors coming from abroad and seems to be brain child of MCI/IMA. Easing out for foreign degree holders is an excellent solution to overcome the shortage and provide quality treatment in interior villages. It will also prevent brain drain. Some implementable rules can be made for their absorption other than FMGE which is so tough that only 10% qualified more
