Four sentenced to death for rape, murder of 13-year-old girl. Four persons on Friday were sentenced to death by a sessions court in Kupwara for the gangrape and murder of a 13-year-old girl eight years ago while she was returning from school. Terming it as a rarest of rare case, Principal District and Sessions Judge Kupwara Mohammad Ibrahim Wani awarded the death penalty to convicts Sadiq Mir, Azhar Ahmad Mir, both residents of Langate in Kupwara, Mochi Jahangir Ansari of West Bengal and Suresh Kumar of Rajasthan, who had gangraped the child and slit her throat, before burying her

While the sentence may not solace the family of victim who their child in such a tragic and barbaric way, it certainly sets example for those beasts who do such cruelty to women and in this case a kid.

While as a society we will have to keep looking for solutions and ways to protect women and kids form such incidents, such judgments will certainly

Remind such criminals that our society and country will be better without them around…
I am not suggesting prosecuting them in public view however a death penalty to all such who forget all humanity for lust. more

Stern punishment to all rapists but it is better to shoot them in public more
What ever be the opinion of 'Human rights' followers, I am with those who suggest punishment for such base and barbaric crimes should be in full public view so that it strongly sends a message to all people viewing it. The result of such an act and would work as a deterrent sub-consciously on the criminal before he perpetrates the crime. The news of death sentence executed at some remote place normally would not even reach a miniscule percentage of the criminal population. more
I still don't understand why people don't look at the root cause of the sex related crimes in India instead they discuss at large on TV channels and other electronic media without giving any solid and practical solution of the problem. When so called Nirbhaya case took place in Delhi then also a lot of hue and cry was made by public and electronic media too suggesting that very strict laws should bring to control such crimes.Justice Verma Committee was also instituted by Govt of India and after that, accepting the recommendations of Verma Committee report some very strict laws were brought and implemented in this country. But what was the result ? Zero absolutely Zero ,instead sex related crimes increased and some claver women also started implicating innocent boys and men under new laws just to get monetary benefit from them. Alone in Delhi 70% men were acquitted by court in 2013 who were implicated on false sex related crimes . Even i wrote a letter to Justice Verma from Abroad suggesting to legalize prostitution in India. Late age marriages are the main cause of sex related crimes and sex is a need for every healthy human being whether man or woman. Porn sites exposure we also get through internet . But we hypocrite Indians don't want to accept it. Even in Delhi most of such crimes are committed by migrant people who come there for their lively hood and most of them are poor and illiterate people. I am sure if we legalize prostitution in our country then if not all but at least 90% we can see the down fall in the rate of sex related crimes in India. But we always feel shame on discussing such matter on sex need and don't want to accept reality of our human life. more
