But primarily Swatch Bharat Abhiyan starts from people/ and their Homes, In TATAs senior Officers wives used to visit the homes of workers and lower staff. They used to guide the ladies on keeping homes clean, family planning, Children upbringing and health. Based on their feedback company used to take actions and provide support. I doubt many company in INDIA do this. Conditions of ROADS/ SEWER LINES/ DRAINAGES/ GARBAGE DISPOSAL/ PUBLIC TOILETS/ parks maintenance/ Safe drinking water supply are all functions to be performed by LOCAL BODIES. Just inspection of one city will fully expose this- GHAZIABAD is a perfect test case closest to DELHI and can be tackled. There is every possibility they CENTRAL GOVERNMENT WILL LOSE LOT OF TAX PAYERS MONEY TO STATES WITHOUT GETTING TANGIBLE OUTCOME AT ALL. SAME MAY HAPPEN WITH SMART CITY AND MANY OTHER DREAMS OF PM. END RESULT WILL BE PEOPLE LOSE/ PM LOSE / NATION LOSE/ CORRUPT AND INEFFICIENT POLITICIANS RUN WAY WITH MONEY BY CREATING COMMUNAL CONFUSION.

Swatch Bharat and Smart City is not merely keeping neighbourhood clean. Planned colonies should also stay planned and not become slums as many colonies are becoming-courtesy GDA. What were planned as free hold plot colonies have got approval from GDA to build apartments having 12 to 15 flats, leading to complete failure of infrastructure. GDA refuses to set things right by saying that local body will do the up gradation and local body cites lack of finance. GDA employees and builders are hand in gloves as both are benefitting. Shri Gupta is right in saying that only brand image of the city and country suffers while officers and politicians make merry. more

I fully agree with views of Mr Navin Chand Gupta. The citizens should also maintain areas and environment clean around our homes , to the best of their abilities and resources. For example Gayatri-Parivar in Our Society distributed free shopping bags to residents for discouraging bringing home plastic bags. Agree with Mr. N C Gupta's view. Study one town close to Delhi threadbare. Collate best practices from elsewhere. Support & activate local bodies. Has to be a community involved effort. There are simple ways to handle complex issues. Ghaziabad is a classic case. I am willing to help my bit. more
