Fraud by Srinagar Hotel and Goibibo
I had booked stay at Hotel Royal Heritage located at Munwarabad, Opposite Asian Park, Srinagar, J&K from 15-19 August using Goibibo online portal. Due to revoking of article 370, all the ways of communication were shut down from 5 August till 17 August. Hotel was not contactable by any means. Goibibo was also not able to connect with hotel. IPC 144 is still there. Indian govt has asked all the tourists to leave J&K. Airlines have also refunded full amount. When the internet connectivity is restored, hotel is denying to give full refund and not ready to postpone booking as well citing non-refundable policy. Goibibo also denied to help and taking their hands out of this situation. This is a big fraud to customers. I urge for appropriate action to stop this loot by these online portals and hotelier. I have attached hotel booking receipt and email communication from goibibo. more

Approach the nearest consumer court. No need to file a lawyer drafted petition. just clearly state your issues with relevant papers and file a complaint with the fee attached. more

Even I would think that in these "very exceptional" circumstances, customers should not be at any disadvantage and all efforts should be made by the Hotel and more so by Goibibo, through whom the hotel was booked. It's what we call a humanitarian approach..... more

I need some information whether You have Contacted GOIBIBO or not. What was their reply? Have you had Bounced email sent to hotel ? If it is so, then you can approach Consumer Court as it was not your fault and you would definitely get full refund for UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES / Restrictions imposed by Government through Notification. No worry, as such refunds are applicable in special circumstances. more

Goibibo is just a commission agent and has no authority unless they promise while booking. Now remedy is to approach to Hotel and explain the situation. Chances to get refund. more
