FSSAI certified ghee -- fit for consumption?

We purchased a jar of so-called cow ghee (manufactured by Sunshine Artisans) from one of the big malls in Gurgaon recently. It claims to be a product that is made from organically raised cows. But I have serious doubts as to whether the product is ghee at all. And whether it is fit for human consumption! It neither has the properties of ghee nor does it have the consistency or taste of ghee.

It seems like some kind of synthetic ingredients have been added. Real ghee does not solidify in any circumstances. But this "ghee" is always in solid form. So much so that we had to melt it on the stove for it to become liquid. Not wanting to take a chance of consuming something poisonous, I poured some of it in a diya and lit it...to my shock the "ghee" in the lamp had solidified again even though the flame was burning for several hours.

I am shocked that the FSSAI has certified this product which appears to be nothing like ghee and is most probably harmful for human consumption! I would like a response to my complaint from the right authorities, kindly let me know who to address.

Thanks. more

FSSAI must clarify its system of certification of any product as also the system it follows to ensure that the products produced before it are pure, genuine, harmless and 100% fit for humane consumption. Since the manufacturers are allowed to market their food products only after examination and certification by the FSSAI, this institution is fully responsible for any impure & adulterated/artificial items duly certified by them are marketed endangering humane lives. more
