FSSAI in Railways: Course Correction

FSSAI has started some campaign where it is creating awareness about Eat Right Station and trying to do ranking certification for stations.

I humbly suggest that FSSAI stop wasting everybody's time and Railways stop entertaining such projects. The only project that FSSAI must do at this time with Railways is how to improve hygiene of food served in trains and at stations where many a times on one hand there is a food stall of idli, puri vada pav and 10 feet from there is faecal matter.

Please right your focus FSSAI and Railways. Similarly pantry cars have ton of cockroaches and rats and these things must be addressed then telling traveler to eat right. more

Should be great success if suggestions are implemented by the Railways in their true spirit............ more
She is right - Improve - Quality - Cleanliness and Reasonably fresh food should be served more
That's fine. Telling people to eat right is an add-on value only..... But pantry cars should get rid of roaches and rats and be subjected to pest control cleaning every 3 months at least. Also for shops to gain permission to be put up at stations, a min standard of cleanliness must be adhered to Call it IRH (Indian Railways Hygiene) 101 if you please And over and above that the FSSAI Standards for the FOOD QUALITY itself So essentially 3 things - CLEANLINESS, HYGIENE, STANDARDS more
Such campaigns by FSSAI must be at regular intervals and across India. We need to ensure awareness in the minds of the public as we have to hammer them till the time it is habituated. As passengers we need to maintain clealiness in the trains and at stations. We have the habit of keeping our homes clean and tidy but when it comes to public places, we do about-turn. In a nutshell, everyone involved in the process must be sincere, then only we can see Green India in the near future and till the time, we should not talk for comparison about foreign countries. more
Correct, Improve the cleanliness more
