Fssai needs help

Fssai has decided to put food safety labels on the front side of packaged food depending on the harm fat, sugar and salt cause to human health but unable to decidr what to put on pack front side as warning/data.

This circle should enable consultation and everyone should give feedback.

To me it should be traffic signal code and all junk foods should have RED marker. Simple. Pls share views more

It will serve no purpose. While purchasing who reads all these printed on the body of any package. Moreover, all of us are now well aware as to what is to be eaten and what not. We are also aware of the junk foods etc. as also its adverse affect on our health but still we prefer to eat and to serve to our children. Therefore, its more important for us to control ourselves while choosing our foods. Only writing warning on the paged food items would serve no purpose. more
Fassi, FDA regulations of sweets mfg date, shelf life statutorily along with food safety, harmful fats, sugar, energy etc. , all shop keepers to display as STATUTORY declaration publicly. more
FSSAI should find the way out, but must do something. more
First of all there has to be an order classifying Junk Foods. Haldiram, Nathuram, Bhikaji, RPG's: Too Yumm...this is a multi-crore industry giving occupation to many. I have seen in the past many schools have banned even Maggi (in kitchen and in lunch boxes). However even mothers at home find making a snack of Maggi or pasta is quick and convenient when the child is hungry. So nobody would be looking at the Traffic Signal on the packet when they do the shopping. more
Only the very few enlightened customers read Nutritional information or any other information than brand name and MRP and perhaps BB date. Putting the HFSS signal on Front of Pack is an easy way to warn the consumer that the product contains high amounts of Fat, Salt and Sugar, and so consumption should be in measured quantity or occasional. This mainly concerns snack foods. Its a good move but will cause a lot of loss in pre-printed labels to manufacturers and importers. Government should give sufficient time to industry to move from voluntary labeling to mandatory labeling. It should also educate the consumers otherwise the purpose will be defeated. more
