FSSAI needs to function

I feel fssai needs to be a more on the ground body rather than sitting in air conditioned offices making rules that no one follows. For 2 years now its a rule that vendors can be arrested for artificial carbide and ethylene sachet ripening. However it continues big big time. 99% of mango that is in market is that.

Take a bucket of water and keep your mangoes and leave them for a day. You will experience such pungent smell and stink coming from that water.

I dont understand why fssai cant work with customs to stop china import of ethylene sachets and food controllers of states to conduct massive raids on the same day every so often.

Atleast show that you care. And if corona is your excuse than shut down the body for 6 months and resume operations when u can actually work for the citizen. more

Food and Civil supplies minister must be held accountable to such negative activities. GOI must act. more
The employees of enforcing agencies are helpless. more
It is a fact that government officials sit pretty in their offices, instead of taking action against errant traders. If they come out, it is only to collect some tips. more
Small street vendors probably have no knowledge how much of the produce or fruits they sell are grown. Any enforcement has to be done at the farm gate or wholesale level. Government bodies tend to be poorly staffed and are generally not good at these things. It only helps to increase corruption. Customers’ boycott of products they don’t like will be more effective than all the regulations put together. more
Not only FSSAI but many orgs of government should function. I do not know what was the intention of TRAI in intervening in charges collected by cable service providers. From the result it is evident that their intention was to give more money to the cable operators. more
