FSSAI on Danish Chocolates
So fssai has come out and said dont consume Danish chocolates as they contain plastic material and children might choke if they consume it.
They allowed imports of these chocolates blindly and only when someone in european commission issued a warning, fssai issued the same warning. Zero on originality and ability to do proper food testing. No wonder CAG rapped them left and right on poor testing. more

FSSAI should advised to focus on monitoring and checking the unbranded and loose stuff which is available in market only. With their limited manpower this is what they should focus on. Instead,the organisation only works on troubling law abiding businesses ,like manufacturers and intermediaries (CFA/Super Stockists/Distributors/Retailers) and extract monies by threatening with impractical law and harassment. The government should prioritise and advise them to work on foodstuff available in market place on day to day basis . Fruits/vegetables/ Milk nd roadside junk should be the only focus of the local teams and not harassing the intermediaries dealing in purchase and selling.(since the manufacturers are already accredited with such compliance as per fssai guidelines) more

Unfortunately many Government Organization which have capacity to contribute are not doing their bit as either they don't want to be in limelight which could bring increased work pressure or they may end up making more enemies. However this NDA Government is keenly watching performing units and non peforming units would neither get any benefits and also they could be closed down. Work or Perish is the new rule. FSSAI may be wound up if they don't perform and continue earning brickbats. more

Rightly said,this department should be wound up and an alternative should be created under health department which would be able to monitor the sale of unbranded and roadside stuff and take effective steps immediately. more
