FSSAI - Pro-consumers or Pro Business
I see from time to time that the fssai organisation issues policy documents for comments. Just saw one on packaged and frozen meat and I am attaching it.
My concern is no consumer can understand this document. Business with paid consultants can only understand this and respond to it. And I would assume its businesses with vested interests
Does this mean they only vested interest businesses respond to FSSAI's request for comments, no consumers. Well to me that sounds like a biased approach where you are letting business form their own policy to regulate themselves.
If you want consumer feedback, FSSAI needs to simplify the asking process and move away from such bureaucratic forms to real conversations. Can they?? more

The methods adopted to get reply depends on the intention of the issuer. In my school days when our Head master want to do some thing, one circular used to be issued asking for students to respond if not willing/ not in favour. If he does not want, the circular for willing students to respond. If the rules are easily understandable interpretations are not required. To avoid complications rules should be in simple sentences not in complex sentences. But the rules are always in complex sentences. Cattle belong to those, who has stick in hand. more
