FUMING CONSUMERS as FUEL PRICES SOAR:
The previous highest petrol prices was in September 2013 @ 83.62 . We made a big hue and cry about it , though the global Crude prices had touched an all time high of $ 105 then .But against the present global crude oil price of $ 74 ,which is 30% less than sept.2013 , all of us would expect the petrol price also be roughly 30 % less than the September 2013 prices of 83.62. [it would be less than Rs. 60] . It is learnt that the government taxes are 60 % in this Rs. 81.93 , 20 for the center and 40 for the state. This will have an impact on the following strata of people :
* the construction workers, carpenters , plumbers ; small time vendors who distribute sell al type of a variety of merchandise from tea coffee to cloths ; office goers . All of them use 2 wheelers including women who use a variety of 2 wheelers from .5 to 1.25 cc capacity .
* then comes the auto rickshaws , who will have a field day when a small opportunity comes to fleece the hapless aged, sick , women and the elderly ; especially the government when taxes the public to the tune of 60 % looking the other way instead of regulating and checking the greedy and exploiting .
* the car users : the ones who are first timers and small car users for the family and to commute to the office drop children in schools .
IF THE GOVERNMENTS HAVE CREATED AN EFFECTIVE COST FRIENDLY PUBLIC TRANSPORT THE COMMON MAN CAN’T PROTEST ON MORAL GROUNDS.
In the case of Diesel it is 48 % of taxes @ 69.54.
This is the one which will hit the common man right below the belt and indirectly and slowly. The vegetables , grains , pulses , milk even water and a host of other stuff are dependent on road transport . Obviously the same is to happen here also . This is one which will the ordinary man who forms a good percentage of the population . Families travelling for functions , festivals and holidays will have to cut down on their visits or cut down the number.
ONLY SOLUTION : BOTH THE GOVERNMENTS CAN COORDINATE TO IMPROVE THE TRANSPORT SYSTEM TO THE BENEFIT OF THE COMMON MAN.
Why this hike , is it to create an OIL POOL Surplus kitty and then reduce the price to our benefit or for any other
reason ? We like to know these intricacies. more
