The country badly needs a series of reforms if things should change for better. To start with, it should be Electoral reforms. Every citizen on attaining majority (say 18 yrs.), should automatically be issued the voter ID n those faling to vote in any election should be punished mildly for the first time but stringently for any repetition/s, (unless of course for reasons acceptably beyond control like natural calamities etc.). Election Commission on its own responsibilites, should scan each contesting candidate n dis-allow if found to be not in confirmity with the eligible criteria. The candidates' authentic brief history right from age 15 yrs. should be made available to the voters in the relevant web-site n also their hard copies be made available to voters through the ward offices, if voters wanted such authentic information before voting. The candidates can be allowed to speak to the voters through the e.media, with prior information. No Electoral Campaigning, no banners or hoardings or any expenses to be incurred by candidates at all. If any permissible, may be met from the Govt. exchequer. Any violation/s of code of conduct, should render permenant debar of the candidate. No wastage of money or man-resource shall be allowed in this country. If we citizens become more responsible, we can elect right people /representatives, bring Jan-Lokpal to punish the corrupt n also bring all reforms like Population policy, Health, Education, Legal, Judiciary, L&O, Police, CBI n several others to bring peace n harmony in this country. All this can happen only if we citizens change to be more responsible in our duties n rights. more
