Galbladder removal after Heart Bypass.

My Mother(65) has got Heart bypass surgery done 3 years back. She has Galbladder stones problem also.

Now planning to go for Galbladder removal surgery.
I am worried as her heart bypass is already done, will Gal-removal surgery or Anesthesia be a problem?

If you know any Case of Galbladder removal after heart bypass, please let me know, will be a big relief, Thanks- Renuka. more

hi RENUKA, first, a bypass, if well funtional puts her at no added risk especially if she is taking her medicines. besides, they dont just do the surgery, they test before hand for possible risks- its called PAC= pre anesthetic checkup. Just let the dr doing it know if you have any further queries, please feel free to call Dr Saumya Mittal 9873711878 Physician and Diabetician 9873711878 more
I don't know of any case of Galbladder removal after by pass surgery, but my uncle got his gallbladder removed a few months ago. He had a major accident about 6-7 years ago, and at that time he was in ICU for 3 months and had several operations of stomach, and pancreas. He is also a heart patient (cholesterol, blood pressure, diabetes). Inspite of all these complications his gall bladder removal surgery went smooth, and was done by laproscopy! Don't worry about the surgery, nowadays there are tons of medicines and treatments for every patient and your mother will be fine in no time :) Sent on my BlackBerry® from Vodafone more
Renuka. I had told you about a year back that the sooner you get the Gall Bladder out it would be much better for your mother. But I suppose you tried Alternate Medicines which did not work. Is she still in USA or is she back. Gall Bladder Surgery now is a very simple affair. I got my Gall Bladder out in less than 1/2 day. I was wheeled in at 8a.m. and discharged by 3p,m in the Afternoon. That was 10 years back. It is like a OPD operation now. Do not have any stress or worry about a Gall Bladder removal. more
