Dear Members,
I am sure most of us have this wistful thinking that we need to be fitter, have a flat waist line, be able to run these long distances which we see on TV super athletes run; distances like 5kms, 10kms, 21kms, 42kms and even more. This not only helps us be physically fit but also be mentally alert. It looks like a daunting task to run these kms but beyond a good beginning it is more about the mind than the physical ability.
PRA has always been working for you to provide you opportunities to help you socialize, provide you with cultural events or become more active by participating in Sporting activities.
Now PRA brings you from 0-5kms program where one of our members, Umesh Gupta will train residents to become fitter and give you a jump start to doing your first 5kms run.
While this is open to all, it is being started during the Summer holidays so that children too can participate. The program is as follows:
1. Program: 0-5Kms in 2 months
2. Eligibility: 10 years and above. No worries about fitness levels, it is our job to train you, gently and smoothly without pushing you too much. Feel free to bring friends along
3. Where: M Block Park just off Jacaranda Marg
4. Date and time: 6:30 Am for 45 minutes every Monday and Friday starting from 12th of May
5. Fees: Free

About Umesh: Umesh, as some of you may know is a fitness buff and has run many long distance runs from 21kms to even Ultra Marathons and runs in extreme environments like in the higher reaches of Himalayas. He was a top 250 finisher in the Airtel Half Marathon with a time of 1:36 hours. He is also an avid Gym user and has been informally training many young friends. In his younger days Umesh played cricket for Bombay schools and has toured Australia with a famous Cricket Club of New Delhi. He was also a Table Tennis Player and had regular placement in Delhi tournaments. He is a fellow member and lives in N Block DLF II itself
