GET INTO THE HABIT OF READING THE LABEL OF "CONTENTS " of PACKAGED FOODS :

Yes it is very important . Also start tasting what your kids particularly the Adolescent , school going kids buy themselves and eat .If it drives you back to the brand the food stuff has the magic mix .

These snacks are specially made tasty by using combinations of various tastes to hook the user back again and again. This has been scientifically proved :

*Adding sugar, salt and fat to food makes perfect sense from the point of the food industry: these ingredients drive overconsumption of the foods and beverages they’re added to; and they’re cheap and readily available, which maximizes profit for the manufacturer and maximizes the weight for the consumer .

COMBINED TASTE EATEN TOGETHER TRIGGER A STRONGER REWARD SIGNAL IN THE BRAIN, CONSUMER CRAVING DEVELOPS THAT TURN TO ADDICTION TO THAT BRAND

* Another strategy by the Food Factories is making the Food items softer through such processing techniques. When the food is made softer , the chewing , masticating is reduced from the conventional 32 times . Without chewing the prescribed times the children tend to swallow . As a result more quantity is eaten within short span of time .

One common piece of Advise / dictum is to chew the food 32 times before swallowing as Bolus [chewed food] is undermined. First more food will be consumed in less time as the chewing is reduced .This will lead to the first digestion process of food in the mouth is impaired. The undigested carbohydrate will cause problem in the stomach . And naturally necessitate FREQUENT VISITS TO THE GASTROENTEROLOGIST.

The softened food will also reduce the exercise to the teeth , cheek, tongue and other muscles in the Buccal Cavity and around the neck.

SO MAKE IT A POINT TO READ THE LABEL OF PACKAGED FOOD CAREFULLY AND CONSCIENTIZE THE CHILDREN ON THE MATTER .. more

The minimum we can do is to not encourage such foods. Go for coconut water, lassi etc. Also keep on impressing upon them the bad after effects of junk food more
There is a lot of information on the labels - Ingredients, Nutritional panel, How to Use, How to store, Recipes, etc. Please read carefully. more
