Getting a will registered and vetting it
What is the process of getting a will registered and getting it vetted by a lawyer? Any recommended lawyer/s in cr park area ? more

I thought one does not have to register a will. Only it needs to be witnessed by two close friends. I do not see any advantage of will being registered. It is that time of death & after it becomes effective and many legal clauses dictate. Obtaining a probate in India is a task. more

Sir, one can get his will registered at his own. There is no stamp fee.The total charges are negligible. Regards. more

Thanks, Bhairali Sahib. Testator has sole right to divide or give moveable and immoveable property acquired from his own earnings/savings to any body he likes. No body can question his decision. Will becomes operational after demise of the Testator and can be challenged when it becomes operational. Registered Will can be challenged only on limited grounds, e.g. the testator was not entitled to make a will in respect of specified assets or the will was made under fraud/ duress or when the testator was not in balanced mental frame-work etc. It is not necessary for the beneficiaries to be present at the time of drafting or execution of Will by Testator. Testator is under no obligation to tell any body about execution of will. Regards, Ramesh Mital more
