Give both branded drug and salt in prescription

The Localcircles survey makes a lot of sense because it says people want doctors to write name of branded medicine as well as salt name in the prescription

https://www.localcircles.com/a/press/page/medical-corruption-survey

This works for all as the patient who can afford will buy the brand and the patient who cant can buy the generic version. Also if main brand is not available the patient can pick an alternate.

If the Govt doesnt implement what the survey is saying this will likely become another paper act.

The others aspects of the act which prohibit any payments from any commercial entity or company for doctors is really good. We need this to become reality. more

Presently almost all branded medicines have generic version mentioned on their packaging. This makes it easy for any consumer to select the medicine by its brand name or in generic form. I fully agree with the observation of Mr K C Rana regarding spurious drugs. For over a decade (2001-19), Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance had organized a campaign against spurious drugs in the country and exposed the drug mafias who could operate with a well oiled underground net work to hoodwink the gullible public. At places those mafias had enjoyed the patronage of members of enforcement agencies and even police. The campaign could expose the network but could not eliminate the mafias who may be still active. more
People prefer to buy medicines directly from chemists, without a prescription and lots of branded medicines are sold over the counter for chemists to get more profits. Look around the numbers of flourishing chemists in colonies vs the numbers of doctors in the same colonies to realize about branded medicines vs generic medicines which are not sold over the counter because of less profits and not because of inferior quality more
The regulators must check the MRP, quality of drugs at every retail store every month randomly throughout the country. The inspectors must submit their monthly performance report to higher authorities. There is big loot/extortion going on in this trade for decades. more
I am still in favor of buying top band medicines which are cheap and high in efficacy. 70% medicines sold in the market are fake and sub standard or spurious. The govt. Regulators must check the quality and price of fraud medicines being sold by retailers every month in conivance with the medical fraternity and unscrupulous producers. more
Doctors should write salt and brand so people can buy as per their convenience more
Yes, both the salt and the brand name should be written by all doctors in the prescriptions. I noticed specialists do write both nowadays whereas very large GPs do not. LC should push for this. Again, yes, majority of the pharma companies offer incentives to doctors based on number of prescriptions. Chemists also do get the kick for servicing them besides promote the customers who come without the prescriptions, as OTC medicines. But online pharmacies insist for the upload of prescriptions and in case of non-availability of prescriptions, they arrange for doctors consultation over phone and provide medicines thereafter. more
