Governance of information businesses

Recently Delhi Govt has been cracking down on illegal spas, many of them operating as prostitution centers.

5000 of them in Delhi are listed on justdial while MCD has issued licenses to 498. Does that mean 90% of businesses listed on justdial are illegal.

This is a public company which is not being regulated by any act. Like this they could allow criminals to register as plumbers and electricians and send to your and my home.

Since now most activity is happening on app such sites must be brought under ecommerce consumer protection rules. more

Illegal activities may be done by licensee and non-licensee both. Crack down should be on both. more
Even so many references given by just dial either do not exist or their phone numbers are wrong or not updated. more
Undoubtedly it is a genuine concern and needs to be addressed properly and strongly by law enforcement. more
If there are more than 5000 units against a paltry number of 498 licenses issued by the concerned government department, means the rest are illegal and are obviously engaged in some kind of illegal activities, otherwise who barred them in getting valid licenses from the authorities? No doubt, we are living in a democratic country in real sense, where the citizens' say or will or act is final and under this pretext, we can do whatever we like or wish to serve our self interests better without bothering for any law, rule and/or our own people! more
The Licence issuing authority should inspect the unit for verification at regular interval more
