Governing NGOs who claim taking care of girl child

This week the muzaffarpur bihar ngo came to light. The trustee and associated politicians had been raping 40 odd girls between age 7-14 for years. One of the individuals identified is husband of a minister.

I want to urge members of this circle to brainstorm how such ngos should be governed and what should be the checks and balances.

Chances are such rapes are also prevalent in madrasas and other religious/non religious ngos. In some other cases it may be a business for some of these who wish to please politicians.

We must do something or hold our peace for ever. more

There is no respect or fear for law, particularly those are having money. Money begets money, and money can buy muscle power. MOney power and muscle power makes you invincible. Neighbours and/or witnesses will be under fear. Police may refuse to register a case. Cases will roll in the courts for years. Even if punishment is awarded, their facilities in the jail would be converted to halcyon. more
Look. The remedy stands with creation of law. MANHANDLING should be serious offence in society as well home. Those who indulge in such act should be given minimum three months regorus imprisonment. This would be the first step for solving such issues. more
Why are many such brutal sexual crimes occurring now in India, when such crimes could hardly even be imagined two or three decades ago? The answer lies in the overall decadence of modern society, where with growing urbanization and fragmentation of families/individuals, the moral foundations are very weak. These are exploited further by the entertainment industry that promotes lustful conduct in society (by themes that show promiscuity as 'normal', and 'item numbers'). The epidemic growth of pornography and the easy accessibility of such content (through internet and mobile phones) is causing a catastrophic decay in moral values across society, and putting children and adults in enormous danger due to the promotion of lust and sexual perversion. Many sections of the media in India act as if this is not a problem, and in fact actively engage in the promotion of pornography as 'normal'. Why are the religious and spiritual organizations silent about all this? If 'secularism' means the respect of all religions, and no religion promotes lustful conduct, why is our legal system so tolerant of the epidemic growth of obscene content and pornography ? more
It is time now to separate governing from policy making. While policies are debated and finalised in the parliament or in the state assemblies such framed policies are applied and governed by government officials such as the collectors, police, magistrates, etc. as such one can not interfere with the other. In our country the judiciary is slow and there is a believe that it can be influenced. Unless we bring in reforms in the judiciary passing laws will not help. Thanks more
While these Government run NGO's indulge in bestiality and brutal rape, the focus seems only to be on Missionaries of Charity and even all media houses as if on cue from forces in Center were trying to tarnish the image of this institution which brought happiness in lives of many childless couples who wanted a child for adoption. From the Bank Account of the Nun, the agencies could not find any lakhs of rupees which media houses claimed the maid (helper) and the nun would have made in last so many years. A clear bias could be seen but still people would like to only see and appreciate what they are shown(brainwashed) by media and local leaders. For inefficiency of NCW which was clearly brought out in the lapses in their own workings, they wanted to pass the buck and hence made the nun a scapegoat. more
