Government Wasting Taxpayers Money

Look at these flats—brand new with amenities like electricity, water, cooking gas, elevators, a children's park, and a health center—all located in Delhi and gifted by GoI to slum dwellers.

Built by the DDA, each flat costs ₹25 lakh to construct, market value must be ₹50-75 lakh, but slum dwellers are getting them for just ₹1.42 lakh!

Who’s covering the remaining cost? Taxpayers. The same taxpayers who, despite working their entire lives, can’t afford a decent home without taking hefty loans. The beauty of our socialist democracy! And btw, what are the chances some of them will rent these flats and return to slum life? Not unheard of. more

Presently the so called Middle Class Citizens are being SQUEEZED to its MAXIMUM. This is breaking the backbone of Middle Class Specially Non Pensioner Senior Citizens. more
That means the government should not undertake any developmental works for social upliftment! Whatever work is undertaken, the money therefor will ultimately come from the pockets of the tax payers. In a country like ours, where 80% or more people live below poverty line and spend their entire life span in slums do deserve such welfare schemes and upliftment more and more. However, the government must guard against any sort of corruption at any level in the allotment, which should be purely on merit basis and ensure that the houses so allotted are invariably inhabited by the beneficiaries and their families only. more
SO, going by your logic, 5% taxpayer should always be squeezed for non performance of others. And BTW, what was % below BPL in 1952, 1977 (25 yrs), 2002 and now in 2025? Has it substantially gone down? NOPE (80% you only wrote as last figure) !!! THEN? this will continue till eternity? And farm income? This non taxation of farm income is the biggest scam after independence: means of converting black money to white.

THIS CASH FOR VOTE BY ROB PETER TO PAY PAUL WILL HAVE TO STOP as this will keep generating black money. more
Finally it will come in open market for resale and tax will be imposed on it. Govt. fulfils no. of targets at one shot only. more
every one is busy in wasting tax payers money more
Delhi government gave free bus travel for women, not "free buses"! Free bus travel helps environment, not free houses. Central giving free houses! Free buses costs covered buses running and earning, helps economies of scope - Empty buses filling up, vehicle road congestion reduced. https://www.orfonline.org/expert-speak/the-impact-of-public-transport-on-traffic-congestion-in-cities more
