Govt disappoints us - No hope to pollution issue

the Central Government seems to have agreed to farmers demand to decriminalise stubble burning.

What this means is that the pollution issue for us residents of Delhi NCR and many other North India cities will continue.

Basically the Govt is saying farmers matter most and young children with asthma, senior citizen with lung and heart ailments living in north india dont matter.

Unless govt has an alternate plan to fix toxic air pollution issue, we should all move to other parts of india more

Government must come out with a solution to stubble burning to reduce the pollution in NCR more
Its all about votes. The government is trying to get as many votes possible to ensure an overwhelming majority so that it can dictate any and all terms for us vulnerable citizens. more

No solution can be found if we consider stubble burning, happening only for 1 month in the year, as the root cause of pollution. Control experiment evidence naturally being provided as we see that except during torrential rains air remains laden with suspended particulate matter throughout the year. Dieselisation of private transport, burning high ash content coal for thermal power, and construction are the two big contributors towards pollution. Biomass cleaner when burnt than fossil fuels especially diesel the more unrefined one, compared with petrol. Good to discuss farmers responsibility therein, but such are the facts that matter. more
Yeah, if some place is not livable, moving to other parts is better option. more
