Govt is freaking profiteering from us
Cousin got car serviced for ₹16,473. Add ₹3,126 GST. Paid ₹19,599 in total.
But wait! To earn that ₹19,599, he paid ₹8,400 in income tax too.
So for a ₹16,473 service, ₹27,999 left his pocket. That’s 41.17% tax! 😭🚗💸 TaxTerrorism or Profiteering 😡😡
Maintaining a Car for Senior Citizens is a must, because they can not use other mode of Transport. Govt must give some relief to such Car Owners.

Taxes are a must to meet the ever increasing cost of governance n freebies. Still many State governments are on the verge of bankruptcy.

First of all, owning a car is not at all a necessity and currently being considered as a luxury in India. More than the purchase cost, the cost of maintenance and fuel kills and is not suitable for lower/middle/ upper class, but only suitable for the rich. One can drive two wheelers and take the family for an outing in a Uber or a ola, which is cheaper than owning a car. If one wants to enjoy luxury, then taxes are inevitable. Secondly, One solution to the tax simplification issue is replacing income tax with more simplified unified tax system, e.g. expenditure tax. Income tax is a pain to all tax payers. Those above 7 lacs taxable income are taxed heavily. But those below 8 L pa are considered EBC. So these are contradictory. The executive should work in this aspect and liberate people from this burden. The threshold can be 12 Lacs taxable income till IT continues, or get it replaced with a unified system.
