It’s encouraging to see the government responding to community feedback by reducing medicine prices. This can make healthcare more affordable and accessible for many people, reflecting the impact of public engagement and advocacy. more
I would sincerely appreciate if you can give me the names of the medicines which have been reduced as my bills for diabetic meds have increased drastically. more
Most of the products which were effectively used till 10-15 years ago are available as generics with PMJana Aushadhi Kendra/ Stores at reasonable MRPs. So it is not that the Govt is not are of the correct prices. Why do the authorities permit higher MRPs (as high as branded products) to other companies for the same products? Why do they allow unreasonably high margins in MRP to branded products. We are aware why most of the DRs knowingly prescribe costlier medicines and new molecules inspite of having products which have been effective for some years. This regular practice is with corporate hospitals. more
While price control seems to be a good move the issue is that manufacturers cease production of such medicines where they don't have margins and a lot of them go out of stock. So whether this is a boon or a bane is often a double edged sword. I think we need a better system of price control through throttling of taxes/subsidy and also ensuring viability for manufacturers. No manufacturer will supply medicines below cost which is the reality. more
Truly a good endeavour. It will benefit common pople. more
